Ancient cities around the world

[ad_1]

In 1997, archaeologists conducted excavations in an effort to rebuild the city center following the adverse effects of the civil war. In the process, they discovered the remnants of several civilizations dating back to nearly 5,000 years. This proves that Beirut was possibly founded around 3,000 B.C., dating the city earlier than the settlement of Jerusalem, Athens and other such ancient cities. The civilizations uncovered belong to the Canaanite, Roman, Phoenician, Hellenistic and Ottoman eras.
