A two-mile run occasion to lift cash for the DREAMers scholarship program shall be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on the east aspect of campus.
The Pupil Group of Social Work, SOSW, and the Rho Beta Chapter of SLB Worldwide Fraternity Inc. joined forces to create and co-host Dream Run. The assembly location is at Innovation Blvd. and 19th Avenue. College students, college and employees pay $20 and neighborhood members pay $25 to take part. All proceeds go to Wichita StateÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s new scholarship program for undocumented college students. The scholarship was established by former Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson and his spouse, Stacy.
Sandra Aurora, SOSW president, had the thought of making Dream Run. She stated she was impressed by social work and charity races to lift consciousness of the dearth of economic help for undocumented college students. DACA college students can’t legally obtain any federal, and generally state, monetary help. This contains loans, grants, scholarships, or work-study cash.

Aurora approached the SLB fraternity for its involvement within the DREAMer scholarship. The fraternityÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s ideas are brotherhood, scholarship, neighborhood service, and cultural consciousness.
The teams reached out to Neza Tires, AztecaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Boutique, Camarena Adelante Basis, and eight different sponsors for assist.
SOSW and the SLB encourage everybody to take part within the run. Meals, trophies, and t-shirts with the Ã¢â‚¬Å“Collectively We DreamÃ¢â‚¬Â motto shall be obtainable on the occasion.
