Gonzaga assistant Donny Daniels leaving for job with Utah | Faculty Basketball


SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Assistant coach Donny Daniels is leaving Gonzaga after 9 seasons, the primary change on the basketball teaching workers since 2013.

The Spokesman-Overview stories that the 64-year-old Daniels plans to hitch Utah as director of basketball operations, which is able to cut back his workload because it will not contain recruiting or on-court teaching.

Daniels’ time at Gonzaga consists of all 5 of this system’s 30-win seasons, two runs to the Elite Eight and the 2017 nationwide title sport.

His departure is the primary change on the Zags’ teaching workers since Brian Michaelson changed Ray Giacoletti, who departed after the 2013 season to grow to be the pinnacle coach at Drake.

Daniels has been an assistant or head basketball coach since 1979 at quite a lot of packages.
