19 Apr – Filmmaker Erik Matti not too long ago expressed his happiness over returning to the style he loves probably the most – horror.
The director not too long ago shared a poster of his new horror film, “Kuwaresma” on social media, and revealed that horror was one of many genres that he completely beloved and impressed him to turn out to be a filmmaker.
“Rising up I might watch cowboy westerns, shaolin motion pictures, man-on-a-mission motion pictures and many horror movies. From the elegant “The Changeling” to the schlocky Italian horrors to the campy Chinese language ghost erotica horrors. I did not develop up watching avant-garde European movies. Any likelihood I’ve to make a horror movie is all the time a blessing,” he wrote.
And by horror, Matti confused that he means actual horror, not a kind of that he described as “artwork movies disguised as horror movies”.
“I all the time am as much as the problem to do a horror movie that may get a correct terrifying response from the viewers. Restraint is nice however horror does not actually work totally if it is too delicate,” he stated.
Matti said that “Kuwaresma” has all the required elements for a enjoyable horror movie – from ghosts, thriller, loopy characters, and a useless canine that comes alive.
The upcoming movie, starring Sharon Cuneta and John Arcilla, is ready to premiere on 15 Could.
