A crowd of about 250 protesters knocked over the Accomplice statue referred to as Silent Sam on the College of North Carolina. The monument was erected in 1913 to recollect the “sons of the College who died for his or her beloved Southland 1861-1865,” based on the UNC’s web site. The toppling of Silent Sam got here months after college students and a few school members referred to as for the elimination of the statue.
