Actor Saif Ali Khan reportedly forgot the directions to his ancestral home, and had to take the help of local youth. According to a report in Navbharat Times, the actor, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their son, Taimur, were on the way to the Pataudi Palace to celebrate her birthday on September 21.
The actor had hired an SUV to take them to the Haryana town, but after the driver took a wrong turn, Saif had to ask a few locals for directions to his family home. The good Samaritans took the opportunity to click selfies with the actor, who can be seen dressed in a kurta pyjama.

Saif’s father, late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, aka Tiger Pataudi, was the last Nawab of Pataudi, Haryana. The title got abolished by the government of India in 1971.
However, the title ‘Nawab’ was passed on, informally and more so lovingly, to the actor after the demise of his father.
The Pataudi Palace underwent restoration and refurbishment after it was repossessed by Saif in 2014.
Pataudi was established in 1804 by the British East India Company, when Faiz Talab Khan, an Afghan Muslim Pashtun of the Barech tribe, who was made the first Nawab, aided them in their battle against the Maratha Empire, during the Second Anglo-Maratha War.
The family traces their origin to 16th century India, when their ancestors immigrated from present day Afghanistan to India during the period of the Lodi dynasty.
The 8th Nawab of Pataudi, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, played cricket for both England and India while his son, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the last Nawab, captained the Indian cricket team. His son Saif is an actor-producer.Â
In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Khan described himself as ‘a very private person’. The journalist Roshmila Bhattacharya once said, “Unlike most actors, his interests are not limited to box office collections and workout routines. He can converse on anything, from philosophy to politics, from sports to books and music.”
