Paramount gave an early look at its â€œThe SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Runâ€ tv spot that will debut ahead of the Super Bowl. Since even pre-game commercials are expensive, the new clip gives SpongeBob just 26 seconds to describe everything that happens in his new film.
â€œThereâ€™s fast cars, flashbacks, Snoop Dogg, robots, a wise sage, churros,â€ everyoneâ€™s favorite cartooned sponge rattles off. â€œThe only thing missing is Gary.â€

In the animated movie, out in theaters May 22, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star venture out of Bikini Bottom and head to the Lost City of Atlantic City on a rescue mission to save SpongeBobâ€™s trustee snail Gary.
The showâ€™s original voice cast â€” Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Douglas Lawrence â€” will reprise their roles alongside Awkwafina, Keanu Reeves and Reggie Watts. Tim Hill, a former writer on the Nickelodeon series, directed the movie and wrote the screenplay with Michael Kvamme, Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger.
â€œSponge on the Runâ€ is the third theatrical â€œSpongeBobâ€ film, following 2004â€™s â€œThe SpongeBob SquarePants Movieâ€ and 2015â€™s â€œThe SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.â€ Both were commercial hits, grossing over $450 million combined.
