Panaji Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday sought the resignation of four state ministers. Instead of leaving the Congress MLAs, they will be included in the cabinet. Among the ministers who have asked for the resignation of Sawant include three and one Independent MLA from the Goa Forward Party (GPP). On Wednesday, 10 out of 15 Congress MLAs joined the BJP, including opposition leader Chandrakant Kawalakar.
Sawant said that he has to add four new members to the cabinet, so Vijay Vijay Sardesai of GPP, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Vinod Pallekar and an Independent MLA asked to resign.
Speaking to the national leadership, the BJP had supported the state- GPP
To demand the resignation of the Cabinet, the ministers of the GPP said that we are part of the NDA and spoke to the BJP's national leadership and supported the BJP in the state. There was no talk of the state BJP's current leadership. We will take the next step after talks with NDA leaders. We have not received any message yet.
10 MLAs involved in BJP
Earlier on July 10, Chief Minister Sawant reached Mumbai with 10 MLAs. Here the MLAs met BJP's executive president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. After this all the MLAs joined the BJP.
