Islamabad: In the Punjab province of Pakistan, 14 people were killed and 79 others were injured in a collision between a passenger train and a goods train. Officials gave this information. The accident took place around 4 o'clock in the morning at the Walhhar station. According to the Dawn News report, Rahim Yar Khan Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jameel Ahmed Jameel said that all the passengers have been removed from the train in Akbar Express towards Quetta and have been removed from the train and the work to clear the track is going on
Jamil further said that heavy machinery is being used to remove the stranded passengers in the train. They are being provided food and water as well. Rahim Yar Khan DPO Omar Farooq Salamat said that according to the preliminary report, when the signal was changed on the track, the passenger train went on the Loop Line, where a cargo was parked, and both were clashed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed sympathy with the families of the victims. The Railway Minister has announced compensation of 15 lakh Pakistani rupees to the families of the dead. In a similar accident last month, Jinnah Express hit a cargo train near Hyderabad, in which three people were killed, while many others were injured.
