new Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday appointed senior BJP leader Anshuya Uike as Chhattisgarh and Biswas Bhushan Harichandan as Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Leader Uke has been a Rajya Sabha MP from BJP while Harichandan Odisha is involved in senior BJP leaders.
Earlier on Monday, senior BJP leader and former MP Kalraj Mishra was appointed the new governor of Himachal. Kalraj Mishra had refused to fight in the recent Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Acharya Debavrat, the present Governor of Himachal, was made the new governor of Gujarat. Earlier, former Rajya Sabha MP OP Kohli was the Governor there.
Mishra is a Rajya Sabha MP
During the Lok Sabha elections, Kalraj Mishra had said – This time I will not contest Lok Sabha elections. The party has given many other responsibilities. I will take time in that. Kalraj Mishra has been an MP from Rajya Sabha in 1978, 2001 and 2006. In 2012, he was elected MLA from Lucknow assembly seat. Deoria elected as MP in 2014
