Mumbai: After the defeat of India in the ICC Cricket World Cup (2019), a formal start to a change in the 5-year-old team management has begun. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked for the national team's coaching staff. These include the head coach of the team, bowling coach, batting coach, fielding coach, physio, strength and conditioning coach and administrative manager. Of these, Fizio Patrick Farhart and Strength and conditioning coach Shankar Basu have left their post after the World Cup.

BCCI said, "Interested candidates can send their applications by July 30. The BCCI decision will be final decision on these posts. "The team's current coach Ravi Shastri and his colleagues will not need to apply. They will get direct access to the interview. However, from Ravi Shastri, no one has given any indication that he would like to remain in his post or leave the post.

According to the website Cricinfo, the BCCI has made strict conditions for the coaching staff including the chief coach. According to this, head coach should be less than 60 years of age. Apart from this, head coach can be the same person who has the qualification of Level 3 in coaching. If he does not have this qualification, then he should have at least 30 Tests or 50 ODIs.

Experiences like Mohinder Amarnath were also included in the race when the BCCI last applied for head coach. But with the new conditions of the BCCI, such experienced veteran themselves have been out of the head coach race. At present, Sanjay Bangar is the assistant and batting coach of the team. Bharat Arun Bowling and R. Shridhar is fielding coach. Sunil Subramaniam was the team manager during the World Cup.

Explain that the term of the current coaching staff was over at the end of the World Cup. New applications were not received in May-June due to World Cup release. Now in August, the Indian team will play T20, ODI and Test series against the West Indies. It was not easy to contract with a new coach or staff so soon. Therefore, the term of most members of the coaching staff, including Ravi Shastri, has been extended for 45 days.
