Switch of RBI reserves to Govt: Jalan panel to submit its report quickly | Bimal Jalan Committee report ready, advocate surplus cash switch

According to sources, the committee has recommended to transfer the surplus amount. Recommendations of Bimal Jalan Committee were finalized in a meeting held in Delhi. The committee recommended transfer of surplus amount. It was suggested to transfer this amount within three to five years.

Report to be submitted in 10 to 15 days
It was decided in the meeting that this amount will be transferred under a fixed formula. Sources also claim that there is no general opinion on fund transfer. In such a case, the report will be submitted to RBI in 10 to 15 days. There is no obligation to follow the advice of the committee on RBI. The government has the right to issue instructions in the public interest. Section 7 of RBI Act has the right to direct.

– 2.32 lakh crore of consignment funds
– Currency-Gold Revaluation Fund Rs 6.91 lakh Crore
– Other reserves of 0.20 lakh crores
