The fire occurred at a studio belonging to Kyoto Animation (known in Japan as “KyoAni”). Kyodo news says at least 13 people are dead, and AFP reports 37 have been injured, 10 seriously. According to multiple reports, a suspect sprayed a gasoline-like substance around the studio before the fire. Kyoto Animation has produced 21 anime series along with a number of movies.
