new Delhi. Senior Congress leader Sheela Dikshit passed away on Saturday. He was 81 years old. He was admitted to the Fortis Escorts hospital in the capital on Saturday due to a severe deterioration. Dr. Ashok Seth, the director of the hospital told that during the treatment, Sheila Dikshit was given a cordial arrest at 3.15 pm. After this he was placed on the ventilator. Sheila Dikshit has been chief minister of Delhi for 15 years. Prior to the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had entrusted him with the responsibility of the party's president on January 10 in Delhi.

The body of Sheila Dikshit was kept for her last visit to her residence in East Nizamuddin. Several leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP leader Vijay Goel, Jyotiraditya Scindia paid tribute to him. After 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, his last visit will come out for the corporation Bodh Ghat. On the other hand, the Kejriwal government has announced a two-day state mourning in Delhi.
