Laxmikantrao Dharurkar said that ABVP invited me in a program organized on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's speech in Chicago. He said that I went to the program because I was invited and why did not I go? The organization you are talking about is not an anti-national and terrorist organization. It is a social and cultural organization which came into existence long before the Jan Sangh came into existence. It is not connected to any party.
On hoisting the flag of ABVP, Dharurkar said that there were speeches and plantation took place there too. This event was associated with the speech of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago speech. He said that he has been associated with thousands of organizations across the country for the past few years and as a Vice-Chancellor, he does not see anything wrong in attending ABVP program. When asked if he also flagged the student organizations like Students Federation of India (SFI). He further said that I am a scholar of China and Russia. I am familiar with the ideas of Karl Marx and Mao-Tse Tung. I am a man of very open thoughts and support all the student organizations.
