UFC – Randy Couture Workout for MMA Conditioning

Okay, so maybe not the exact Randy Couture Grappling, but I am quite sure that he would approve. This is the Funk version of the workout.

For all you TOUGH GUYS (or GIRLS) out there, if you want a challenging workout, or want to change up your boring routine, this is IT.

Anyways heres the workout.
Bent rows x8
Upright rows x8
Military press x8
Stiff Legged Deadlifts x8
Lunges x8 (each leg)
Squat x8
Deadlift x8
60 -90 second rest in between sets. Do 3-5 sets depending on how much you feel. I will tell you that 3 sets, I was absolutely dead.

  1. It's inportant to keep in mind that the lounges in this workout are not traditional lounges but a more open-base lounges that mimic a grappling stance. check the randy video to see how they are.

  6. Superb film. Youtube is good for this form of info.My good friend was formerly bullied. He explained he was intending to get bigger. I laughed… Til all of a sudden he added 40 pounds of pure muscle. He used the Muscle Building Bible (Google it). Nobody dares to bully the man these days. I actually subscribed the other day.   9. I think this would be a great workout for a male or female, though the hand weights are a little light for this workout. You want to get that metabolic effect and hand weights probably will not be enough – how many lbs are we talking?

  10. You should be eating 5-6 meals/snacks per day to keep the metabolism going. After your training try to have a drink or meal that is 2-1 carbs to protein (check out my post workout meal video) to replenish your glycogen stores lost during training and keep the metabolism up so you can constantly burn fat. Eat more vegetables (with each meal and snack) and a source of protein with each meal/snack – Without knowing exactly what you eat over a week, not much more I can do – Funk

  11. only thing i can add is in between the squats you throw in a overhead push press…squat then overhead military push press….okay i gotta add this to the rotation. DAMNIT FUNK! TOO MANY WORKOUTS SO LITTLE TIME..

  12. MF Doom!!! Dope as usual Funk! I picked this workout up in 09'. stationed in Honduras for a year and dropped 25lbs in a month doing this! beast of a workout! you think it's easy till you hit those squat sets….cardio son! cardio
