Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Government will award a reward of Rs 2 crore to those who win medals in international level competitions. Minister of Higher Education and Sports Jitu Patwari said this while discussing grants-in-aid for the departmental budget in the Assembly on Sunday. Minister Patwari said that for the first time in the state, the award amount has been fixed for getting medals in the Olympics, World Cup, Asian Games. In this, an incentive amount of two crore rupees was made for getting gold medal at international level. In each assembly constituency, the provision of Rs. 5 lakhs per annum for the MLA for the effective conduct of the structure and sports activities in the sports world has been made.
He informed the House that decision has been taken to appoint sports science experts, psychologists, physiologists, physiotherapists, dieticians, etc. for the sports academies of international sports at the international level. To encourage football game, it was decided to set up an international level football academy at Chhidwada. Similarly, the Academy of Swimming and Wrestling is also being set up in Indore.
The Minister said that a provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for the outdoor stadium in Rewa. Rowing complex in Jabalpur will be made internationally. A grand stadium will be built at Barkheda Nathu in Bhopal. For this, a provision of 10 crores has been made.
He further said that posts of assistant professors will be filled in two months and the sports officer and librarian will be appointed for the selected 214 posts from PSC. The guest scholar, who has served 10 to 15 years, will be taken special care.
The Minister said that in the Government colleges all the state government colleges, other backward classes and economically weaker children and 10 percent poor children studying in the graduate and postgraduate classes will get free books of Rs. 1500 and stationery worth Rs. 500 will be given free of cost. So far, this system was meant for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes students.
Patwari said that there is a provision to create 2000 smart classes, 200 language labs and 200 e-libraries to enhance academic quality in the colleges. Excellence colleges like Bhopal will be established in Indore, Jabalpur, Sagar, Chhindwara, Rewa, Ujjain, Gwalior and Hoshangabad.
