Wished to be the best speaker of Commonwealth countries
In the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Sadan Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary praised the manner in which the Speaker Om Birla's house was run and his performance so far. He has expressed that he would emerge as the best speaker of Commonwealth countries one day. On Thursday, he was very happy with the way in which opposition members gave him an opportunity to talk to him while discussing the three divorce bills (Muslim Women 'Protection of Rights on Marriage' Bill, 2019). Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in the praise of the speaker that "Your (Om Birla) is a very big role, so that we could keep all your questions and demands in front of you." You keep on listening to our demands constantly. We want you to emerge as the best speaker of Commonwealth countries. "
Opposition happy with change in process of action
Indeed, this is the first session of the second term of the Modi Government, and in this, Speaker Om Birla has established himself not only as a party but also as Speaker of the Opposition. Om Birla himself has been constantly telling this fact that he will do justice to all MPs. He has often been heard in the House, "I see all the MPs in the same way. I do not discriminate with MPs." The reality is that the opposition has benefited from the improvement made in the process of proceedings of the House. For instance, it was the tradition that till now the discussion on any bill or any issue related to the discussion and questions, the concerned minister would answer him in the House. In the meantime, the opposition members used tokaka-tank and demand clarification. In response to the minister's response between the clamor, the proceedings on that subject were completed. But, speaker Om Birla is now allowing the members to seek explanation even after the minister's response, and the minister has to satisfy the members with his answer. This is being seen as a major change in the process of operation of Parliament and most of the opposition MPs are happy.
Every MP is giving chance
The result of Om Birla's change in the way of the conduct of the House is that the business average of the Lok Sabha is more than 100 percent. Speakers sit in the House until late and the proceedings continue. In such a short time, most of the new MPs have got an opportunity to talk to the House. Earlier, there were very few MPs who could get the opportunity to speak in the House only during their first tenure. But Om Birla has given an open exemption to ask everyone in Zero Hour. The proposal for the second time to choose Om Birla from the Rajasthan quota was made when Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed on the third day of the current session, probably no one thought that in such a short time he would become so popular among the MPs. Om Birla was unanimously elected speaker on June 19th.
