National Conference president Omar Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti claimed to have shut down the internet. According to sources, Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah have been interned. Many officers and employees of the Jammu and Kashmir government have been issued passes to the office during the curfew.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, "If the state government officials believe that the mobile internet is not working. If this is the case, an informal curfew is going to begin and mainstream leaders can be detained. Some do not know whom to believe and where it is happening. He wrote, I think that I will be interned today from midnight and the process has been started for all the political parties' leaders too. There is no way to find out if this is true. But if it is then I will see you all on the other side. Allah protects us.

Omar further wrote that for the people of Kashmir, we do not know what is for us, but I firmly believe that the plan that Allah Almighty has made is always for better, we can not see it now . But we should never doubt its ways. Good luck to all, please be safe and please be careful of all.

On the other hand, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted that news of the closure of internet services, including mobile coverage, is being reported. Curfew passes are also being issued. God only knows what will happen tomorrow. It's going to be a long night. He said that in such a difficult time, I want to convince my people that whatever happens we will be together and fight it.

Before this, all-party meeting of National Conference Chairman Farooq Abdullah was held. The meeting also included PDP President and former CM Mehbooba Mufti, former CM Omar Abdullah and Congress State President Ghulam Ahmed Mir, People's Movement leader Shah Faisal and Sajjad Lone. In the meeting, the parties have urged India and Pakistan not to take any steps that increase the tension in the area. They also appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace.
