The Mitsubishi Regional Jet (Japanese: 三菱リージョナルジェット), or MRJ for short, is a twin-engine regional jet aircraft seating 70–90 passengers manufactured by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, a partnership between majority owner Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Toyota Motor Corporation[7] with design assistance from Toyota affiliate Fuji Heavy Industries, already a manufacturer of aircraft. It will be the first airliner designed and produced in Japan since the NAMC YS-11 of the 1960s, which was produced at a loss.Its first flight was in November 2015, with deliveries scheduled for 2017.

  1. I have never understood why the Japanese have shied away from aircraft manufacturing for so long, in spite of their rock-solid reputation in heavy engineering. If they had entered the aviation industry seriously, I guess they would have given bigwigs like Boeing and Airbus a run for their money!

  3. nothing new its actually an american plane assembled in japan with P&W engines something similar to c919 with GE engines tomorrow all tom dick and harries will have their own shells with american engines 🙂 so peoples aren't really looking at the plane they are trusting ( P&W and GE ) just like they always do

  4. You are not allowed to say bonsai when on this plane even though they built the Zero and watch out for the captain with a rising sun bandana sipping on saki…not a good sign folks.
