Here, annual income of every family is between Rs. 70 to 75 lakhs. is. This is the result of hard work done in apple gardens.
The village did not have apple until the 80's
At present, apple crop has started in the village and it is expected that this village with population of 1800 will get about 7 lakhs of apple cider this year. That too is the best quality apple in the country. Farmers like Rayal Apple, Red Galeld, Gayle Gala have planted varieties. The village did not have apple until the 80's. In 1990, farmers Hira Singh Dogra brought apple plants for the first time. If their experiment was successful then the whole village started growing apple. Hira Singh explains that today 12 to 15 lakh box apples from the Madavag Panchayat go all over the world.
To save the snow, snowfall runs year after year
The size of the apple of mudavag is very large. The quality of apples here is so good that the apple does not get spoiled quickly due to good snow fall. People take care of apple gardens like babies. In cold weather, there are night-days in the gardens. In the temperature less than zero degree, people remove the snow from the trees. The snow can break the branches of trees. Crop is prepared from April to August-September. In the meantime, if the wet fall, then the entire crop can be wasted. Nails are installed above the gardens to save crops from hail.
