COMPANIES PRECARIZE, PERSECT, AMEDRENT AND SUPEREXPLONT THE ACONCAGUA WORKERS: THE STATE AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GUARANTEE IT
The porters of INKA expeditions together with mountain workers (muleteers, campers, guides) from other companies such as Aymará, we are fighting to improve our working conditions in the mountains, where not only do they not pay us our share of risking our lives between the 4400 and 6100msnm every day, and going up under any climatic conditions, but also the working conditions that are presented to us are worse every day: We do not have insurance, ART, social work, retirement, we are in black demanding to register as monotributistas, ignoring any employment relationship.
Last season the porters of INKA expeditions decided to carry out a measure of force, a strike, (which did not come out in any way) due to the permanent refusal of the company to discuss our working conditions, with which we managed to sign an agreement where This promised to improve our work situation in some points, apart from guaranteeing that there would be no reprisals for the measure and promised 3 years of work continuity:
INKA expeditions not only did not comply with the agreement but threatened, intimidated and dismissed the porters who were at the forefront of the conflict. Despite this, the company decided to remove even minimum acquired rights that make work at height such as the guarantee of food, dome, work clothes, mules to move our equipment, etc.
The same happens in Aymará, which throws, persecutes and intimidates the workers who poke their heads to claim for better working conditions.
Companies in Aconcagua have sidereal gains, at the expense of our work, our backs, knees, and the time we leave our families down here throughout the season. That is the true face of Aconcagua that is hidden from Mendoza and tourists who come from all over the world: PRECARIZATION, EVASION, CORRUPTION, POLLUTION AND BLACKING. The provincial state, the provincial government, is responsible for companies continuing to manage Aconcagua provincial park in this way and generating an impressive legal vacuum where labor rights and the dignity of mountain workers are not respected.
We need the commitment of all workers, students and teachers of the guide school, since this is one of the future jobs that awaits us in the mountains, where there are still no laws that regulate our work and our remuneration.
