Section 144 was lifted from the urban area of â€‹â€‹Jammu
The order issued on behalf of DM Sushma Chauhan of Jammu said that section 144 has been lifted from the urban area of â€‹â€‹Jammu and from tomorrow (August 10) schools and other educational institutions will be opened as per pre-determined time. Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Kathua Munir Khan said that, in Jammu, the situation is normal. The situation in Kashmir is under control. All steps necessary to maintain law and order will be taken.
Markets also open from 11 am to 5 pm
Meanwhile, schools in Udhampur district have also opened again today. Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Udhampur said, 'Section 144 is still in force, but with some exceptions in some areas. Security plan is in force. Weak areas are being closely monitored. The markets will also be open from 11 am to 5 pm. On Friday, apart from Srinagar, people also visited mosques in other cities of the valley for prayers. After the abolition of Article 370, the first Zuma prayer was performed on Friday. A large number of people rushed to the mosque to offer prayers in Srinagar. Section 144 is still applicable in the entire area of â€‹â€‹the valley, markets are closed in many places. There is a restriction on people on the streets.
Doval visited sensitive areas of Srinagar
Earlier, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Friday visited sensitive areas of Srinagar and interacted with local people and security personnel. Doval has been camping in Jammu and Kashmir since Tuesday. Officials said the NSA went to the Idgah area along with its colleagues and senior officials and stopped at various places and interacted with the people.
