A few days ago, we reported that next year’s iPhone might sport a 120Hz display like the iPad Pro. Today, a user going by the name of CoinX, who accurately predicted many details about the iPad lineup and the iPhone XS, speculated about the upcoming iPhone’s naming scheme.
He said that the next iteration of the iPhone might use the “Pro†suffix. As of now, it is really unclear which device will make use of the “Pro†suffix. The tweet just talks about the possibility of the naming scheme, leaving Apple fanboys on the edge of their seats.
It is expected that the Cupertino giant will release three models of the iPhone in the fall. Some reports suggest that the triple camera iPhone could be the iPhone Pro, meaning this year’s lineup will consist of an iPhone 11, iPhone 11R and iPhone 11 Pro.
Apple is expected to release the new iPhones sometime next month, with the “Pro†variant powered by the triangular triple camera setup and a new square-shaped bump. If rumours are to be believed, Apple will make use of the new 7nm A13 chip, support bilateral wireless charging.
Reports also suggest that Apple will include the ability to charge AirPods just by holding them to the back of the iPhone.
If Apple decides to spice up the naming scheme, this will be a step forward to make iPhone names similar to other Apple products. The iPad, iMac and MacBook already have “Pro†and non-Pro variants.
