Hyderabad: Defending national champion Indian badminton player Saurabh Verma on Sunday defeated Singapore's Loh Kean Yewu in the three-match match to clinch the Hyderabad Open title. Seventh seed Saurabh defeated World No. 44 Yiyu 21-13 14-21 21-16 in a 52-minute title match. Saurabh, who won the Slovenia international title in May this year, landed on the court against Yiu for the first time.
Saurabh defeated Malaysia's Alexander Zulkarnain 23-21 21-16 in a 48-minute match in the semi-finals of the tournament on Saturday.
