It appears that several Apple products are getting the triple-lens camera treatment, including the upcoming iPad Pro.
The new iPhone 11Â is believed to sport a triple-lens camera, but speculations now suggest that the newest iPad Pro, which is expected to be launched in October 2019, will feature the same setup.
New iPad Pro May Get Triple-Lens Camera Upgrade
A new report from Japanese website Mac Otakara revealed that an Apple supplier from China has divulged the possibility of the new iPad Pro getting released with a triple-lens camera.
The current iPad Pro only features a single-lens 12MP snapper, which makes its evolution to a triple-lens setup quite significant. If the new camera hardware does make its way to the 2019 version of the iPad Pro, it’s also expected to get new features that the current model doesn’t have, such as Portrait mode.
If both the iPhone 11 and iPad Pro get triple-lens camera treatments, it will be the first time that the two Apple products will feature the same camera technology.
The same source from China also references the long-rumored 10.2-inch iPad in the report. While the 2019 iPad Pro will get three lenses, the upcoming 10.2-inch iPad model will presumably be fitted with a twin-lens camera.
Not much has been revealed about the iPad lineup that will be released by Apple. 9to5 Mac noted that since iPad models went through a design overhaul in 2018, many analysts believe that the 2019 models will only be undergoing internal changes.
An Extensive iPad Release In 2019
The year may be halfway done, but Apple is slated to make waves in the latter part of 2019 with as much as seven new iPad models believed to be introduced to the market.
Seven iPad models have been registered with the Asian Economic Commission database. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that Apple is planning to release seven different models, it certainly remains a possibility.
Apple’s current iPad lineup includes the iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and the 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro. Laptop Mag said that it wouldn’t be too surprising to see a fifth type of iPad join the ranks in 2019, based on the EEC database filings. However, it’s also possible for the company to streamline the iPad family.
Apple is expected to reveal a slew of new products during its major event in September.
