The sword of arrest hangs
In fact, on September 17, a law student who accused BJP leader Swami Chinmayananda of rape and sexual exploitation had recorded statements under section 164 before the magistrate. After the student's statement was recorded, it was believed that Swami Chinmayanand could be arrested anytime by increasing the section of rape. But late Monday night, Swami Chinmayananda made a health related complaint. After which a team of doctors conducted medical examination of Chinmayananda. He is currently under medical supervision at his home.
No trust on SIT investigation
A law student accused of sexual abuse has questioned the role of SIT. The victim student says that she is no longer confident of the SIT investigation, as more than 24 hours have elapsed since the 164 statements were recorded. But Swami Chinmayananda has not been arrested yet. The victim says that the SIT team has not been telling them anything since yesterday as well as is not picking up the phone.
What is the whole matter?
On 23 August, a law student from Shahjahanpur went missing. A day later, the girl posted a video on social media stating that an influential leader of the saint community was harassing her and threatening to kill her. The student's father later accused Chinmayananda of exploiting his daughter and other girl students. On August 27, based on the complaint of the girl's father, a case was registered against Chinmayananda under sections 364 (kidnapping for kidnapping or murder) and section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. On 30 August, a law student was detected in Rajasthan and was later produced in the Supreme Court. On the basis of its complaints, the Supreme Court ordered the UP government to constitute ASIT.
