Samsung Charity Gala Highlights the Energy of Philanthropic Partnerships

It’s not easy changing the world for the better, but with extraordinary partners, anything is possible.

At the 18th annual Samsung Gives Charity Gala, emceed by Ryan Seacrest on behalf of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, Samsung raised more than $2.4 million to help raise awareness for a variety of important social and charitable programs, with the primary goal of raising funds to help people defy barriers and build brighter futures.

Here’s a quick look at the star-studded evening at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Ryan Seacrest welcomed guests and thanked Samsung for supporting his foundation’s mission to inspire youth through entertainment and education initiatives, adding “I’m proud to announce that with the help of partners like Samsung we have built a Seacrest studio in our 10thpediatric hospital.”

Past winners of the Samsung Solve for TomorrowSTEM contest, which challenges public school 6thto 12thgraders to solve a pressing problem in their communities using science, technology, engineering and math, take a photo with Dwyane Wade, the evening’s “Champion of Hope” award recipient for his work with the Wade Family Foundationto promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations.

I would not go alone,” said Wade, adding “I’m thankful to say we’ve been able to accomplish that so far in the Wade Family Foundation.”
