new Delhi: The BJP Central Election Committee meeting is over. The meeting was held on Sunday for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. This meeting was called for the selection of candidates. It was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to sources, the party may make Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar its candidate from Karnal assembly seat.
It is worth noting that apart from PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Devendra Fadnavis, Manohar Lal Khattar, Shivraj Chauhan were present in this meeting. According to sources, in the meeting, the decision was taken first on the distribution of tickets in Haryana, later on Maharashtra. Actually, BJP has made a big announcement regarding the ticket in Haryana. The party has said that no family of MP-MLAs will be given ticket for assembly elections in Haryana assembly elections. The exception to this is Premlata, a sitting MLA from Uchana. Premlata is the wife of Rajya Sabha MP Chaudhary Virendra Singh and the mother of Lok Sabha MP Vijender Singh from Hisar.
The Election Commission has decided to hold simultaneous elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. Voting for the assembly elections in both states will take place on October 21. The counting of votes will take place on October 24. Maharashtra has 288 assembly seats, while Haryana has 90 assembly seats. At present, there are BJP governments at both places. Significantly, the BJP today announced candidates for the state assembly by-elections. The party released a list of 36 candidates. The by-elections will be held on October 21 for 64 assembly seats in 17 states. The list released today includes the names of candidates for the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim and Telangana seats.
