It is noteworthy that India's mixed relay team won the Silvap medal at the Jakarta Asian Games 2018. In this event, India had lodged a protest that Bahrain's runner had interrupted Hima Das during the relay race, which led India to the second position. Later this appeal of India was also rejected. This event was held for the first time at the Asian Games.
Earlier, MP Jabir and Duti Chand missed out on their events. Duti Chand was eliminated in the women's 100 meter race in the first round itself. At the same time, AP Jabir was eliminated after reaching the semi-finals in the 400 meter hurdles.
