TEDxBuenos Aires 2011 – Chris Temple & Zach Ingrasci – Dwelling with one greenback per day.

4 students from the United States spent their summer living in Guatemala on less than 1 dollar a day to try and understand the reality of poverty first hand. They never anticipated what would happen to them during those few months.
Specialized in international development, they are third year students of the international relations and economics career in the United States. In search of experiential learning, last year they started the project "Living on One Dollar a Day" (living with one dollar a day). For 8 weeks they lived with less than a dollar a day in a rural community in Guatemala, investigating how they live to survive those living in extreme poverty.

  1. Very appreciated for how their hard work may influence many lives. This vid contains many meaningful and spiritual lessons that our generations need to learn to improve the well-beings of mankind . I was very glad to see Chris Temple having speech at my high school assembly yesterday. He taught us that poverty does not mean lack of intelligence or laziness, but lack of opportunity. It is necessary for us to know how we are going to affect their lives forever by giving the passion and effort into helping.

  2. SE NOTA QUE NO SABES DE LO QUE ESTAS HABLANDO, ES EL CAPITALISMO LO QUE NOS HA LLEVADO A DONDE ESTAMOS. BIEN POR VOS QUE TE EDUCASTE EN PRIVADOS Y CON PREPAGAS, PERO LA REALIDAD EN AMERICA LATINA ES OTRA, Y NO SE SOLUCIONA CONTROLANDO LA NATALIDAD.. SE SOLUCIONA CON EDUCACIÓN Y BRINDANDO OPORTUNIDADES PARA CRECER, QUE ESO CREO QUE ES JUSTO LO QUE VOS NO HAS LOGRADO.. LASTIMA..
