4 students from the United States spent their summer living in Guatemala on less than 1 dollar a day to try and understand the reality of poverty first hand. They never anticipated what would happen to them during those few months.
Specialized in international development, they are third year students of the international relations and economics career in the United States. In search of experiential learning, last year they started the project "Living on One Dollar a Day" (living with one dollar a day). For 8 weeks they lived with less than a dollar a day in a rural community in Guatemala, investigating how they live to survive those living in extreme poverty.
