Kolkata : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said through video conferencing that "The science and technology ecosystem in the country should be very strong. " Addressing the 5th India International Science Festival (IISF-2019) held here in New Delhi, he emphasized on building a strong and effective ecosystem of science and technology in the country that can run from generation to generation.
PM Modi said that the fifth edition of India International Science Festival is taking place at a place which has produced great personalities serving humanity in every field of knowledge-science. Referring to the coincidence of organizing the Science Festival, he said that it is being organized at a time when on 7 November C.V. Raman's and Jagdish Chandra Bose's birth anniversary will be celebrated on 30 November.
The Prime Minister said that there can be no better coincidence to celebrate the legacy of these great personalities of science and take inspiration from them in the 21st century. Modi said, "So, my best wishes to the organizers for deciding the theme of this festival: Ration-Research, Innovation and Science Empowering Nation. This theme is in accordance with 21st century India and this is the essence of our future."
Earlier, in Bangla language, through technology, he talked about interacting with the participants present in the festival and felt their enthusiasm and enthusiasm. He said, "There is no country in the world that has progressed without science and technology and India too has a very rich past in it, we have given very big scientists to the world."
Modi said, "Our past is glorious. Our present is filled with the influence of science and technology. In the midst of all this our responsibilities towards the future increase manifold. Realizing this responsibility, the government is providing institutional support for both invention and innovation. "
The Prime Minister said, "It is our endeavor that students from class six go to the Atal Tinkering Lab and then as soon as they leave college, they get an incubation, startup ecosystem ready. More Atal tinkering labs have been built. Apart from this, more than 200 Atal Incubation Centers have also been prepared.
