new Delhi. Violence took place in 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Uttar Pradesh administration has registered 327 FIRs across the state in connection with the violence during the protests. In this case 1158 people have been arrested in UP and preventive action has been taken against 5558 people. A statement issued by the UP police said that 19 people were killed in the violence. 288 policemen were injured, with 61 policemen being shot. During the violence, 647 kiosks, 69 live cartridges and 35 indigenous pistols have been recovered.

According to the UP Police, 124 people have been arrested in the state for posting inflammatory posts on social media and 93 FIRs have been registered in this regard. A total of 19409 social media posts have been taken action so far. Of which 9372 cases are Twitter posts, 9856 cases are Facebook posts. A total of 181 YouTube profiles have also been blocked so far, police said.

DGP OP Singh has given strict instructions that no accused should be arrested without proof. Under no circumstances should innocents be harassed. The arrest of the accused should be done by gathering evidence, facts. It should also be noted that at the time of arrest, assault or indecency should not take place under any circumstances. If the person named does not appear to be involved in the violence, he should be informed immediately.

The DGP headquarters has issued an alert in Mahoba, Lucknow, Sambhal and Murababad. The security forces have been instructed to keep an eye on all important mosques as well as communicate with Maulana and the city Qazi. Along with this, foot patrolling and flag march have been ordered at all sensitive places. The Uttar Pradesh Police has started identifying the perpetrators of violence in the protests over the citizenship Kannu and sending them notice.
