new Delhi: The fixed date for linking the permanent account number (PAN) with Aadhaar has been extended till March 31 of the next year. Earlier this deadline was ending on 31 December 2019. The Income Tax Department (IT) on Monday issued this order under sub-section 2 of section 139 AA of the Income Tax Act 1961.
This is how you can link PAN and Aadhaar
First of all, you have to go to the e-filing website of the Eyre Department and click on www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
– After visiting the website and clicking, you will see a red colored click on the side, 'Link Aadhar' will be written on this.
– If your account is not created, then you have to register first. After logging in, the page will open in front of you.
With login, you open the profile settings shown above and go to the option to link Aadhaar card.
After opening the option, you have to fill the Aadhaar number and captcha code in the given section, after filling it, your PAN and Aadhaar will be linked.
Can also link via an SMS
If you are having any problem in linking Aadhaar and PAN in the website, then there is no need to worry. You can also do this work through an SMS from your mobile. According to the Income Tax Department, by sending an SMS to 567678 or 56161, Aadhaar can be linked with PAN.
Aadhaar was also implemented under the flagship scheme of the Central Government. The IT department informed that IT returns can be filled only through biometric ID and through that the PAN number will also be given. Experts say that the income tax refund of those who have not linked PAN to Aadhaar can get into trouble.

According to the Income Tax Department, to link the PAN card with Aadhaar, confirmation will have to be given on the official website of the Income Tax Department. Those who do not know whether their PAN is linked to their Aadhar card or not, all they have to do is go and check with the website.
Supreme Court gave constitutional recognition to Aadhaar
The Central Board of Direct Taxes, which formulates and implements the policies of the Income Tax Department, is overseeing this process. The Supreme Court gave the Aadhar card constitutional validity in September last year.
Aadhaar card is issued by Unique Identification Authority of India. It is available only to those who hold Indian citizenship. Apart from this, the IT department issues a 10-digit PAN number to any such person, group or organization, through which all the work of filing income tax and the benefits received thereon.
