Bruins host 'Midday Yr's Eve' celebration for teenagers in Boston hospital

Wives and girlfriends of Boston Bruins players and coaches treated pediatric patients and their parents to a hockey-themed New Year’s Eve party.The Bruins hosted the “Noon Year’s Eve” event at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center early Tuesday afternoon.“I have a 2-year-old and there was a little girl who was her age with her mom, and she should get to celebrate just like my 2-year-old can celebrate at home,” said Elizabeth Moore, the wife of Bruins defenseman John Moore. There were games and activities, including air hockey and a bubble wrap dance party, as well as snacks for all the young patients and their families.Blades, the Bruins mascot, also made an appearance at the event, offering hugs and photo opportunities for all the kids. “This is amazing for the children. It’s compassion and kindness all rolled up into one,” said Joan Tapia, the mother of a child at the Floating Hospital.
