I remember watching this on the rya's tv channel
WOW!!!
@Miss Jennifer Banks The superfecta with the 3 on top actually returned $38,545. 😮
I remember having Alpha on top with Golden ticket 2nd. Of course the dead heat cut the exacta almost in half but I was happy and lucky.
They put two boats on the lake in the infield
It looked to me like Alpha's nose was a little bit aheadmof Golden Ticket's.
A 33-1 shot in a Dead Heat?! The Superfecta must have been a good return price! I know David Cohen was on Golden Ticket..but who was it that was on Alpha? Ramon Dominguez?
I wonder if each side of the boat in the infield lake has both winning owner's colors on the same side of the boat, or one set on each side?
A lot of horses are Secretariat descedents he sired hundreds of foals, so it is not that uncommon to have a horse related to him some how.
I THINK I saw this on ESPN as it was happening. They said it was a dead heat and later I looked up what that meant… random/ cool as hhell lol good for them I don't care
great weekend of racing, 2 upsets and one almost upset (P.E, P.C. and the Travers). upset G.O.D lost ugh. Classic should be a good race though…. somewhat
Dead…sorry
Incredible ride for both jockeys ….absolutly incredible..death heat
What a blilliant ride by David Cohen on the #3 Golden Ticket. That rail trip allowed him to dead heat the favorite Alpha. All I can say is WOW!
Fantastic drama! And Tom Durkin was also in fine form today. He's been much better since giving up the Breeders Cup races and it's so good to see.
indeed. It is nice to see a race like this instead of, say, a 20-1 long shot winning by a length in an extremely slow time and then never winning another notable race. It was definitely a display of gut and grits and it gave fans what they wanted, even in this dismal division of leftover three-year-old colts.
True, but when you see a couple of horses lay it all down like that, you can forget for a time how decimated the 3 year old division is. You just have admire the heart and guts on display.
while an exciting, rare, and fun moment in horse racing, the dead heat really shows us where the three-year-old division is at. and that would be not a great place.
