In the new year till now, petrol has become expensive by 31 paise while diesel 44 paise per liter in Delhi. On the other hand, prices of petrol and diesel may increase further in the coming days after the strong rise in the price of crude oil in the international market. Oil marketing companies on Saturday increased the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai by 10 paise and in Chennai by 11 paisa per liter. The price of diesel has increased by 15 paise in Delhi and Kolkata while in Mumbai and Chennai by 16 paise.
According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai has increased to Rs 75.45, Rs 78.04, Rs 81.04 and Rs 78.39 per liter respectively.
At the same time, the price of diesel in the four metros has increased to Rs 68.40, Rs 70.76, Rs 71.72 and Rs 72.28 per liter respectively.
Bentre crude's March delivery contract on the International Futures Market Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) closed at $ 68.66 a barrel, up 3.64 percent from the previous session on Friday. At the same time, WTI's February contract on the New York Merke Tile Exchange, ie Nymax, gained 3.02 per cent to close at $ 63.03 a barrel.
In the international market, the price of crude oil remains at a high level of three and a half months.
