Los Angeles: US President Donald Trump has accused the late Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani of plotting a terrorist attack in New Delhi. "Sulaimani killed innocent people in his madness, plotting terror attacks in New Delhi and London," Trump said at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Friday.
Regarding ordering a missile attack to kill Sulemani, he said, "Today we remember and honor the victims of Suleimani's atrocities and we are relieved to know that their terror reign is over now. "
Trump did not mention that he was referring to a terrorist conspiracy in India, but perhaps he was referring to the 2012 bomb attack on the car of an Israeli diplomat's wife in India.
On February 13, 2012, Tal Yehoshua Koren was injured and had to undergo surgery in a car bomb attack using a magnet. Apart from this, his driver and two other people standing nearby were also injured.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran was behind the attack and tried to attack in Georgia using the same technique. The case of New Delhi has not been resolved yet and India has not reported the attack to Iran.
According to reports at that time, Iran carried out the attack in response to the murder of its nuclear scientist Mustafa Ahmadi Roshan in Tehran. The nuclear scientist was allegedly murdered by Israel.
Syed Mohammad Ahmed Kazmi, an Indian journalist, was arrested on March 6 of the same year and charged with plotting an attack. He was placed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. In October the same year, the Supreme Court granted him bail on condition of not going abroad.
According to the then news, the Delhi Police alleged that they took care of the Iranians who attacked. According to the police statement, five people involved in the attack were members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards who had come to Delhi.
Irani Major General Suleimani was the commander of the Quds Force, the elite unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Gordies Corps. But its name did not come up during the attack in India.
After Sulaimani's death in Iraq on Thursday, Trump said, "Sulaimani was planning an attack on American officers and soldiers, but we apprehended and killed him."
He listed the attacks allegedly conducted by Sulemani and the attacks by the Quds Force and the Allied Forces.
"Islamic Revolutionary Gord Corps and its brutal Quds Force have targeted, wounded and killed hundreds of American civilians and personnel under Suleimani for years," Trump said.
