Earlier last week, General Bipin Rawat met with the chiefs of the three armies on Thursday, a day after taking over as the country's first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS). During this time, he directed to prepare a proposal to establish Air Defense Command for all the three armies. During the meeting, he also set a time limit for the proposal. The defense ministry said, "The deadline for this proposal is June 30, 2020."
Till now, there is only one Air Defense Command (Air Defense Command) between the three services. General Rawat's first priority is to set up an Air Defense Command to protect India from any airstrikes.
The Indian Air Force plays a major role in air defense, but the Indian Army has its own field air defense system. The Indian Navy has the most advanced and dynamic air defense system. Rawat set priorities for synergy by June 30 and December 31, 2020.
Emphasizing the normal functioning, CDS Rawat had directed that all the three armies and the Coast Guard should be consulted and their views should be received in a time bound manner.
Emphasizing the synergy between the three armies, the CDS said that all should work towards achieving the desired results and with better ideas and suggestions.
