Supreme court asks for notice from Uttar Pradesh government
The Supreme Court has sought reply from the Uttar Pradesh government in the context of the order issued to compensate for the loss of public property. According to Dainik Bhaskar, a bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and M Joseph has asked the state government to file a reply within four weeks.
The court was hearing a plea alleging that arbitrary notices have been sent to some people in Uttar Pradesh, which did not detail FIRs against them or found guilty of any criminal act.
So far, many such cases have been reported across the state in which some such people were kept in jail for several days, which had nothing to do with these demonstrations nor inciting violence. Statements were issued repeatedly to deal strictly with the perpetrators of violence.
