Fertile Days of Women to Get Pregnant
When seeking to conceive a baby, it is important to know the fertile days of the woman to get pregnant. Many couples plan to have sex around days 11 to 14 of the 28 days of the woman's fertile cycle.
However, it is often difficult to know exactly when ovulation will occur. Doctors recommend that couples who are trying to have a baby have sex between days 7 and 20 of the woman's menstrual cycle.
Studies have shown that having sex every two days or every third day works as well as having sex every day in order to get pregnant.

Remember that sperm can live inside a woman's body for 3 to 5 days. However, an ovum released only lives from 4 to 12 hours. The highest pregnancy rates have been reported when fertilization occurs within 4 to 6 hours of ovulation. So don't wait until you think ovulation has occurred to have sex.

If you have an irregular menstrual cycle and are not sure when or if you are ovulating, an ovulation prediction kit can help. These kits, which can be purchased at pharmacies.

There are other diverse methods to help detect when a baby is more likely to be able to conceive.

Some lubricants may interfere with conception. If you are trying to get pregnant, you should avoid all douching and lubricating showers, except those specifically designed not to interfere with fertility. Lubricants should never be used as a method of birth control.

Evaluate cervical flow

The cervical flow protects the semen and helps push it through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes. This flow changes in preparation for ovulation. You will notice the clear differences in how it looks and feels throughout the cycle.

The menstrual period occurs (absence of cervical flow)
The vagina is dry (no cervical flow)
    Sticky / elastic fluid
Wet / creamy / white flow – FERTIL
Slippery / elastic / clear as "egg white" – Very fertile
    Dry (absence of cervical flow)

The cervical flow will be slippery and elastic in its most fertile days. You can use your fingers to check the consistency of your vaginal discharge. Find the fluid inside the lower end of the vagina. Touch on the thumb and index finger – if the material is stretched while the fingers are separated, this could mean that the ovulation is close.
