Karachi: In the biggest city of Pakistan and capital of Sindh province, Karachi, more than 2 thousand people have been arrested in the last 15 days for violating the rules of One Way implemented by the traffic police. According to the report published in the Pakistani media, strict action was taken against those who came from the opposite direction by breaking this rule on the routes declared by the traffic police.
A spokesman for the traffic police said that a total of 2092 drivers have been arrested between January 17 and 31 in this action. Police has registered 2042 cases in this case. A total of 71 thousand 377 challans have been deducted and a fine of one crore 42 lakh four thousand 450 rupees has been charged. Generally, in case of any casualty in violation of traffic rules, strict action like arrest is taken.
But in this case, this action was taken on violation of One Way and it was opposed on behalf of the people. Subsequently, Sindh Province Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah interfered in the case and ordered the police not to file a case. After this, the police is now just cutting the challan.
The people of the city have also demanded from the Chief Minister that all the cases should be removed from those on whom the traffic police have filed a case. If this is not done, then all these people, most of whom are young, will face many problems in future.
