Unique in the world to house 130 disabled dogs among its 750 inhabitants, El Campito seeks to raise awareness and is a pioneer of the "open doors" system
We are a non-profit NGO.
We are registered as
CIVIL ASSOCIATION REFUGE EL CAMPITO legal status n ° 6971
ROUTE 16 PLOT 501 E MONTE GRANDE PARTY OF ESTEBAN ECHEVERRIA
The Campito is a non-Eutanasic refuge, defined in the rest of the world as a "sanctuary" as it houses 130 invalid dogs, more than 50 blind, more than 300 elderly dogs and more than 150 dogs with terminal diseases with palliative treatments (750 animals total).
The Campito is the precursor of the "open doors" system in our country, since every week, it receives between 300 and 900 people who come to the shelter to volunteer for one day, helping with socialization, collaborating so that dogs are not stressed and prepare to be inserted into a family. Visitors also help with observation sheets, through which veterinarians are informed of everything they think should be seen by them, and that concerns the health of the little farmers. The visits also help the animals to be photographed, and to have their photos circulate through social networks in search of homes, or sponsors, who collaborate at will; They help in the treatments our animals need. The open door system also makes people get out of virtual media to take action. In addition, the fact of being able to know personally the animal that is being helped, or that is spreading, generates a great transparency when knowing that that animal for which it is requested, exists and needs help.
We are a non-profit NGO, with legal status, with books and balances up to date and audited, with employees registered according to labor laws, with the corresponding insurance to receive so many people, and with an open heart to all those who want contribute your grain of sand, either sporadically, or through the Volunteer Plan that currently has 200 fixed and stable volunteers.
The mission of the place is to raise awareness among people through the bailouts, through the willpower of each camperito that fights day by day, and through adoption, working from the foundations in compassion and solidarity with each being needed, thus extending the circle of piety to humans.
We do not receive subsidies from the State, nor from companies. The refuge is maintained thanks to the collaboration at the will of many people who share the same beliefs.
